Our Baptism ~ March 7th, 2010 2:00 PM
The week before our wedding, Diana and I were sitting in church when Pastor Brett announced he would be doing baptisms in the Willamette River at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego at 2:00 on Sunday March 7th. Diana and I looked at each other.  Our wedding was scheduled at 4:00 that same Sunday in Lake Oswego.  The park is right down the road from us.  We do Boot Camp there!

Diana had been christened as a baby but had never been baptized.  Pastor Brett explained the significance of making a conscious choice to be baptized and to affirm our faith in Christ.  I believe in the full dunk baptism because it's the only way to put out all of the flames.  We told Pastor Brett we were getting married that Sunday and would it be okay with him to be baptized together.  I had been baptized once before and just wanted to make sure it was okay for me to go back for seconds.  Remember those trick candles they used to put on your birthday cake as a kid?  You know the ones that keep reigniting.  Well that's what my flames are like so, getting baptized again was just another effort to put out my stubborn flames.

Pastor Brett agreed.  These are the pictures of us being baptized by Pastor Brett in the very cold waters of the Willamette, taken by Diana's son Austin.
